The Philadelphia Area Housing Project is dedicated to creating homeownership opportunities for single mothers and widows, by helping them transition from renting to owning.

Empowering Women and Families
Through supportive housing, financial education, and accessible pathways to homeownership, we are committed to fostering lasting change. Here is how we will help.
Equity Building Rent Model
A portion of the rent payments will go directly towards their future downpayment, allowing them to have an easier transition to homeownership.
Affordable Home Rental in a Respectable School District
We provide housing in safe and family friendly neighborhoods, with respectable school districts. Participants rent for 2-3 years at rates comparable to a mortgage.
Annual Financial Education
We offer at least one financial guidance session each year, to help equip the families with the skills they need for confident financial decision making.
Our Progress
In April 2024, we were able to acquire our first property in West Pottsgrove Township debt free. We are planning to make this space home to two to three townhomes, with an estimated budget and fundraising goal of $600 thousand to $850 thousand.
Our goal is to build them debt free to allow us to offer more accessible pricing to the participants and allow for a larger portion of the rent to be allocated to the down payment.
Mutane Co will be working with Along the Way to select and place the single mothers in the homes. This will help close more of the loop for these mothers
